Dr. Alan Peslak named IST discipline coordinator

Dr. Alan Peskak, associate professor of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State Worthington Scranton, has been appointed Discipline Coordinator for the Division of Information Sciences and Technology in the University College for the 2011-2012 academic year.

As discipline coordinator, some of Dr. Peslak’s duties will include meeting with division faculty to remain current on their activities; reviewing the annual Faculty Activity Report; participating as a disciplinary consultant in the annual performance reviews of tenure and non-tenure system faculty in his division; and overseeing the development of courses and degree programs.

Dr. Peslak is an Associate Professor of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State Worthington Scranton. He received his Ph.D. in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

His research areas include information technology social, ethical, and economic issues as well as information technology pedagogy. Publications include the Communications of the ACM, Information Resources Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Journal of Information Systems Education, Team Performance Management, Information Research, and First Monday.

He has over 25 years of diverse manufacturing and service industry experience and is on the editorial boards of numerous journals.
