Worthington Scranton IST Professor Published in Two Industry Journals

4/9/2008 —

Alan Peslak, Assistant Professor of Information Science Technology at Worthington Scranton, was recently notified that two separate articles he authored will be published.

The first, a paper titled, "Teaching Software Engineering Including Integration with Other Disciplines" was co-written with Richard Stillman, of Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and will be published in an upcoming issue of the Information Systems Education Journal (ISEDJ).

ISEDJ is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by EDSIG, the Education Special Interest Group of AITP, the Association of Information Technology Professionals (Chicago, Illinois).

It is published online in connection with ISECON, the Information Systems Education Conference, which is peer reviewed. ISEDJ papers are selected from among the papers submitted to ISECON. Award-winning papers (the top 15% of papers) from ISECON are automatically accepted to ISEDJ. Other papers are subjected to a second round of peer review to assess their qualilty and contribution to the field of Information Science education. Those papers that are deemed of sufficient quality are accepted for publication in the ISEDJ journal.

Peslak's second article, "Organizational Information Systems: Rate of Return and Influencing Variables as Viewed by Top Financial Executives" was published in the latest edition of the journal, Industrial Management and Data Systems (IMDS).

IMDS aims to improve managerial skills by promoting awareness of new technology and related concepts and their implications for new products and processes and to improve the industrial manager's understanding of all aspects of management activity, facilitating better communication between functions.
