Step 2) The Application
We recommend future Penn State students apply for admission on-line. To do so, you will first create a My Penn State account. (See information below about creating your My Penn State account.) My Penn State is your one-stop shop for customizing your Penn State admissions experience. Your My Penn State will allow you to apply on-line, print a paper application, receive customized messages and check the status of your application.
- Make sure to remember your My Penn State user ID and password.
My Penn State (Apply On-line) - This link will take you the University Undergraduate Admissions web site where you will create your account.
PAPER APPLICATION - This link will take you to the University Undergraduate Admissions web site. Click Order Print Materials. You may also obtain a paper application at your local Penn State Admissions Office. The guidance counselor section of the application must be printed out and given to your counselor, who will submit this section with your high school transcript.
COUNSELOR FORM - This link will allow you to download the form for your guidance counselor.
The components of a completed application for a First-year student include:
- Completed application, including $50 application fee
- Official high school transcripts (or GED) with a completed counselor page
- Official SAT or ACT scores
