ARE YOU PLANNING TO ATTEND COMMENCEMENT?
Graduates will receive details in the mail and must respond to the Registrar's Office to indicate participation in Commencement. Please respond even if you are not attending. Diplomas are not distributed at Commencement, but are mailed home approximately four to six weeks after the Commencement ceremony, regardless of your attendance. Check your diploma mailing address in eLion by selecting the Address Information link under the Personal Profile menu option. Make sure your permanent address is correct.
For the safety and enjoyment of graduates and invited guests, each participating graduate will be provided with tickets. You must RSVP by the requested deadline for tickets to be set aside for you.
Please notify the Registrar's Office if you will require special accommodations, such as handicap access to the stage.
Graduates will be notified of arrival time and check-in location. Please be prompt so that line up can occur once all graduates are checked in.
Graduates participating in Commencement must wear a cap, gown and tassel, which can be purchased in the Campus Bookstore for $40 + tax. Visit the Bookstore in the Study Learning Center or call 570-963-2705 for additional information.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT GRADUATION AND COMMENCEMENT
Are you ready to graduate?
If you are ready to graduate at the end of the current semester, it will be necessary to take the following steps:
Meet with your Adviser
Use eLion to request a current Degree Audit and review it with your Academic Adviser. You should meet with your adviser during the semester prior to when you intend to graduate and ensure that you are on track to meet all degree requirements. If you are missing course, credit, or grade requirements, you will NOT be able to graduate. You cannot graduate with missing or deferred grades. Your Degree Audit should read "All Requirements Have Been Met Or Are In Progress" during the semester in which you plan to graduate. If your Degree Audit indicates that "At Least One Requirement Has Not Been Satisfied," you should contact your adviser immediately to rectify the problem.
Declare your Intent to Graduate
It is your responsibility to notify the University of your intent to graduate. You can do this by using the Graduating This Semester application in eLion. This must be done during the Intent to Graduate Activation Period for the semester in which you plan to graduate. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for activation period dates. If you do not file your intent to graduate, you will not officially graduate from the University. If you miss the activation period deadline for your intended semester of graduation, you must contact the Campus Registrar's Office in Dawson 6.
Check your Address
You will receive important graduation information in the mail, so it is imperative that your address is up to date. Use eLion Address Information to be sure your permanent address is correct.
Transfer your Credits
It is preferable to avoid taking classes at another institution during your intended semester of graduation. If you do, you MUST ensure that Penn State receives your grades on time. To inquire about graduation deadlines, please contact Allison Burns (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Transfer credits should be sent to:
