On behalf of the faculty and the Academic Affairs staff, I welcome you to the Penn State Worthington Scranton campus and encourage you to explore all we have to offer. The campus provides exceptional academic programs as well as the resources of a major research University. We are Penn State proud to bring to Northeastern Pennsylvania a number of degree alternatives from one of the finest universities in the world.

You can earn a Baccalaureate Degree at Penn State Worthington Scranton in American Studies, Business, English, Human Development and Family Studies, Information Sciences and Technology, Letters Arts and Sciences, Nursing, and Science.

You can earn an Associate Degree at Penn State Worthington Scranton in Business Administration, Human Development and Family Studies, Information Sciences and Technology, Letters Arts and Sciences, and Nursing.

You can begin your undergraduate degree at Penn State Worthington Scranton, and then relocate seamlessly to University Park or another Penn State campus to complete your degree. We offer the first two years of 160 majors!

For all of these academic programs, Penn State Worthington Scranton has a first-rate faculty—many are nationally known in their disciplines. They bring exciting new developments from their fields into the classroom. They are also at the forefront of a national trend to bring hands-on, student-centered, active learning techniques into the classroom. They are committed to collaborative work, including challenging discussions in class, team projects, multi-media presentations, and interactive Web use. Increasingly, faculty members are holding virtual office hours for students and advisees.

Penn State Worthington Scranton’s facilities are continuously expanding and improving.  The newly remodeled David and Ann Hawk Student Success Center brings together tutoring services with financial aid information and career counseling. The Library provides access to outstanding resources throughout the entire Penn State University system and beyond. Our Business Building is complete with a Wall Street style trading room and scrolling ticker-tape.

The computing resources for undergraduates at the Worthington Scranton Campus are first-rate, with multiple labs and updated software for general use and specialized labs for our major programs. Students on campus rarely have difficulty finding a computer to use.

Penn State Worthington Scranton also offers a wide array of student activities ranging from student government and clubs to an active honors program and to team sports and intramural athletics. This unique combination of academics and social opportunities are hallmarks of a first-rate learning environment.

There are close to a half million living Penn State graduates in the United States alone. The Penn State alumni association is also second to none with a worldwide network of more than 160,000 dues-paying members.
